A-level Results, August 2025

William Farr School is celebrating a strong set of A-level results this year with further improvement on the average grades awarded, raising the average points per entry significantly above pre-Covid levels.
35% of grades were A*/A, a rise of 4% on last year, with a similar increase in those receiving C grades and above (83%).
These results show the value of hard work and dedication on the parts of both the students who have embraced the challenge of A-level studies and the staff who continue to provide our students with every opportunity to succeed and go on to their next stage in life, whatever that may be.
There were some exceptional performances:
- Annabel Sisman: All A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and EPQ;
- Erica Wright: A*s in Biology, Chemistry and EPQ with an A in Mathematics;
- Martha Reid: A*s in Graphics, Photography and EPQ with an A in Psychology;
- Tess Woodhouse: A*s in English Literature and Photography, As in Art and French;
- Joe McParland: A* in Maths and Further Maths, As in Chemistry and Physics.
Particularly pleasing were the results of those students who joined us in Year 12, many of whom exceeded their targets. Special mention must go to Adham Salama, Finley Hill and Sophia Peel Cobas. A tribute to their commitment to their learning, but also the academic and pastoral support provided by the school.
There were other notable performers who were also at least one grade above their target and, again, we congratulate them on their diligence: Finlay Bell, Joe McParland, Olivia Coupland, Luca Carchedi, Luka Uncetabarrenechea, Lauren Hotchkin, Kai Lynn and Natasha Cullen.
Two sets of twins showed that sibling rivalry can be a force for good and achieved 4 great sets of results, significantly overachieving and securing places at prestigious universities and degree apprenticeships. Well done to Sam and Will Carr and Ben and Max Patrick.
A-Levels are challenging and difficult and we are so proud of the achievements of this cohort of students. Whether they have chosen to go to university or on to apprenticeships or the world of work, our young people will go on to make exceptional contributions to society.
Well done to each & every one of them.
