Religious Studies

Religious Studies seeks to encourage students to consider the whole way a person lives - the quality of life and human values - and the spiritual strength an individual needs. Human beings are faced with many issues and problems in life; there are decisions to make about how to live together in peace, about how to treat people, creation and the world.

GCSE Religious Studies

The ethical themes students study are Religion and Relationships, Religion and Life, Religion and War and Peace and Religion and Crime. This course will enable students to examine these perspectives from the point of view of two religious traditions - Christianity and Hinduism.

William Farr Church of England Comprehensive School has chosen to follow the Lincolnshire Locally Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education (2018-2022). This syllabus aims to help children and young people have the opportunity to develop skills of critical analysis, interpretation, evaluation and reflection, as well as supporting schools to help them improve their knowledge and understanding of religion and belief. It requires schools to teach about Christianity, Hinduism and Islam, alongside a range of other religions and world views.
