UCAS University Applications

University Applications are co-ordinated through UCAS. All of the information students need to apply for university can be found on the UCAS website.

When students apply for courses they need to write a personal statement explaining why they are choosing the course and what they have to offer in addition to their academic potential. The school submits a reference outlining academic and other achievements. On the basis of this, students may receive offers of courses specifying the A Level grades which will be needed or they may be given an overall points score.

For University applications, the UCAS Tariffs are given in the table below:

GradePoints
A*56
A48

In addition to the UCAS website, there are a number of books available from the Higher Education section of Resources, as well as information from universities displayed in the Sixth Form Study Room.

UCAS have provided a powerpoint of information for parents.
