Battlefields Visit - Day 1

The staff and students are safely  en-route, more information will be added later.

Update 2pm - The staff and students have arrived safely and are off on their first visit.

All have spent the afternoon and early evening on some important sites of the Somme Battlefield. a much bigger area than many imagine.

First stop, looking over part of the Somme Battlefield:

Bray Cemetery, where we found a relative of Miss Bates, killed by a shell whilst queuing for his dinner:

Welsh Memorial, Mametz Wood:

The group are now off to Albert for an evening meal.
