Pupils must be punctual both in attending school and arriving at lessons. Persistent lateness is regarded as a serious breach of discipline and the school will wish to involve parents in solving problems if their children do not respond to reasonable reminders.
Pupils should only be absent during term time for non-medical reasons in exceptional circumstances. Parents and carers must be aware of the detrimental effect such absence will have on pupil progress. The school is unable to take responsibility for this. Pupils are expected to make arrangements to complete any work missed. Please refer to the section on examinations. Leave of absence cannot be granted for holidays.
Forms to request Leave of Absence must be obtained from the school office and returned before the absence.
Pupils are issued with books which belong to the school and which should be returned prior to leaving. For administrative purposes, and to facilitate the return of books, leaving forms are provided. All leavers must complete and return these forms.
We look forward to seeing Year 11 and Year 13 leavers again at the Reunion Evening when prizes and certificates are presented. Parents are also invited to be present on these occasions.

The school organises a `whole school' visit on the first day of the Show each year. Pupils may also attend with their parents if they apply to the school for leave of absence. Parents should ensure that pupils attend the show on the day designated by the school to avoid further loss of education.
As an Academy the LA now has no responsibility for the management and financing of the school except for certain powers it retains for Special Educational Needs and Attendance. However the school is conscious of its responsibility to the wider community and where appropriate, will continue to work in partnership with the LA for the benefit of all members of the community that both organisations continue to serve.

Pupils may retrieve lost property before the start of the school day and at the end of the day. They should contact the main office.
